Abstract

This thesis investigates the relationship between work-family stressors, work engagement, and service-oriented organizational citizenship behavior (SO-OCB) among academic staff in Malaysian private higher education institutions. Grounded in Ecological System Theory and Conservation of Resources Theory, it examines how work-family stressors influence work engagement, which subsequently impacts SO-OCB. The study adopts a higher-order construct approach to evaluate both work-related and family-related stressors, incorporating employment status as a moderating variable to compare full-time and part-time staff.
