Abstract
This qualitative case study explores the critical factors influencing turnover intention and job dissatisfaction among young electrical engineers in a Malaysian engineering firm, referred to as Auto Electronics. Despite the growing industry demand for engineers in Malaysia, the organization faces persistent retention challenges, particularly among its young engineering professionals. The primary research aim is to investigate how job satisfaction, job embeddedness, and leadership styles contribute to engineers' turnover intentions. Guided by Herzberg's Two-Factor Theory, Job Embeddedness Theory, and Transformational & Transactional Leadership Theory, this research employs a qualitative methodology, utilizing semi-structured interviews conducted with nine former engineers from Auto Electronics. Data collected from these interviews was
analyzed through Braun and Clarke's (2006) thematic analysis framework, providing deep insights into participants' lived experiences.
