Abstract

Chinese social enterprises (SEs) are confronted with mission drift problem in the case of resource constraints such as lack of funds, shortage of professional talents, and insufficiency of long-term and stable profitable projects, which prevents SEs from gaining competitive advantage and achieving sustainable development. Therefore, on the priority of social goal sustainability, this study aims to find business model innovation (BMI) strategic pathways for SEs to minimize mission drift, which is defined as having attained economic and social goals effectively.
